The BETELGEUSE release has successfully passed the testnet phase. Still, it requires additional development to fix some compatibility issues between our custom codebase and the Bitcoin core. In July, CONSTELLATION will bring the first technological development of InfiniteChain, the Layer-2 technology of SINOVATE, with sidechains. The recent resolution by the SINOVATE decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) is to combine BETELGEUSE with CONSTELLATION to reduce upgrade workloads and avoid repetitive updates for users and exchanges.

The upcoming Betelgeuse mainnet upgrade and the addition of proof-of-stake for hybrid consensus keep our development team occupied.

We mainly focused on newer QT version integration, moving deps up to Openssl 1.1 and allowing for compatibility between all major OS builds. We also re-sanitised builds towards a non-deterministic build system and made sure newer depends didn’t leak into determinism when executed on different platforms.
We have been thoroughly testing the PoS4 hybrid consensus algorithm and our new codebase BTC 0.21 before implementing the upcoming Betelgeuse Mainnet upgrade. The public testnet is still ongoing. Please join and participate to have a taste of our custom fourth-generation proof of stake consensus algorithm. The new codebase is fast, secure and great looking — Mark our words.
As for many custom development, we have had some unforeseen issues on the way. We had to update the codebase one more time to the latest bitcoin core for better compatibility. We know that our community is eagerly waiting. So naturally, we want to deliver as soon as possible. However, our utmost goal is to provide an excellent product without any compatibility issues. 5th of June as we stated, is the end of the public testnet if no critical bugs are found.
Thankfully there are no critical bugs, and we are already preparing to release our Betelgeuse mainnet wallet upgrade.
There are few details left that need to be sorted out, such as UI/UX fixes and optimizations.
Our testnet will keep running for our internal tests even if we release our hardfork wallet upgrade.
Please wait for our hardfork wallet release in the upcoming times.
